Brand Identity for Ambriona, a new luxury chocolate brand launching in India,

Ambriona is a new luxury chocolate brand launching in India, that wished to focus on the essence of creating chocolate with the purest natural ingredients sourced straight from South America and thus, wished to encompass the story of the origins of chocolate within the Logo.
 
The Mayans of South America were the first to discover cocoa. The  cocoa beans were crushed & mixed with water, vanilla, honey, chili-peppers and other spices to make a frothy bitter liquid called “xocolatl”. “xocolatl” soon gained popularity & was consumed on a regular basis as it  was considered to possess medicinal benefits and was also considered to be a source of energy & vitality.
 
The significance of cacao in the mayan civilisation is un-parallel. The mayans were probably the only civilisation to have a  goddess of chocolate know as goddess ‘ixcacao’.Cacao was reserved for rulers, warriors, priests and nobles at sacred ceremonies & was also used as currency.
 
The Ambriona logo is a reinterpretation of the goddess of chocolate, Ixcacao.
